Rustic, Yet Modern Zen Nursery Posted on 15 Jun 16:33 , 0 comments

Aren't you just swooning over this subtle, pale pink nursery from Nested Bean Mama @jessdworkin? We sure are! Little London is looking adorable in our pearl white Zen Swaddle in her gorgeous crib and we're taking in all the small details that makes this set up so sweet.

We asked mama Jess if she could share with us a little more about how she created this nursery - which she designed all on her own, by the way - and her favorite parts of it! Jess said she gathered inspiration from Pinterest and home design sites to come up with ideas.

How did you create that wood paneled wall behind the crib? Was it hard?

Jess: We hired a guy to do it for us. I wish I would of done it ourselves.

You'd be surprised how not-difficult it is to create your own wood paneled wall! Save a few extra bucks and check out this DIY from our Pinterest instead.

How did you decide on your theme/color scheme?

Jess: I always knew I wanted a bit of pink if I had a girl. So I accented the room with hints of pink in the drapes and rug. I didn't want to go overboard on it. I also think gold is a great complimentary color that goes with anything.

Jess did a great job of adding in some traditional pale pinks, without going overboard. Keeping most of the space really neutral with cremes and gold accents is great because it allows you to easily change color schemes if you want to as your child gets older!

WHERE did you get the sign above her crib? (This was MY favorite piece in this nursery!)

Jess: The sign is from a super cute shop called The Trendy Timber. Her work is AMAZING!

What was the best find you got for the space?

Jess: The glider was the best find. My husband found it at Babies R Us.

Having a glider or chair for the nursery is SO important. You're going to need a space you can get comfy for night time feedings, play time, and some snuggles, so make sure you're picking something pretty AND practical.

What's your favorite item in the nursery?

Jess: I would say the rug and crib are my favorite items.

Any advice or design tips for other mamas out there?

Jess: I would say have fun with designing your nursery. Nothing needs to match as long as the color schemes work. Your little one will love it no matter what!

Great advice, Jess! You'll be spending just as much time in the nursery as your baby does - so make it a space you both can enjoy! Thank you for sharing your beautiful nursery with us.
