Bedtime Routine Checklist

A consistent bedtime routine becomes your baby's signal that it's time to go to sleep, which is why it can help your baby fall asleep easier and even stay asleep longer. This simple checklist can help you start the bedtime routine of your dreams, putting an end to those bedtime blues.

When to start a bedtime routine for baby?

Most babies are able to start a regularly scheduled bedtime routine at around 8 weeks. Having a newborn bedtime routine helps to calm your baby and ease them into a good night's sleep. This gives them time to adjust to the new routine and start sleeping through the night. Of course, you will need to adjust the routine as your baby grows and changes. For example, you may need to feed them more or less often, or change the type of activities you do before bed.

Learn more about bedtime routines in A bedtime routine to put your baby to sleep. Once you've mastered these nighttime tricks, head over to our naptime guide to set your little one up for sleep success with their daily routine.

There is no one-size-fits-all bedtime routine that works for every baby. Try to be flexible and find what suits both you and your baby.   - What to expect.
